We’re hosting our wildest, weirdest, and most immersive show yet as we welcome Dakota Curtis & the Dark and Gravy Bird to the stage of the Brown County Playhouse on August 26.
Guests are encouraged to wear their fiercest masks and unleash their inner animals for this over-the-top concert. Our bands will take to the stage in their own wild attire as we capture it all for an unparalleled Rainwater Studios live video production.
Dakota Curtis & The Dark
Dakota Curtis & The Dark delivers a distinctive sound that draws from rock, Americana, and alternative stylings with a hint of Western flair thrown in to create an entirely unpredictable ambiance. Dakota’s frenetic energy draws you in and his striking lyrics keep you entranced through a transformative performance that promises to leave you in an entirely different headspace.
Gravy Bird
Gravy Bird’s Joseph Mccadden delighted audiences with his bigfoot costume while competing to open for Bigfoot Yancey on Take the Stage: Season 1. With his three-piece band, Mccadden creates a groovy brand of rock and roll complemented by intriguing additions like the flute and other unexpected instruments that may come to hand at any time.
Take the Stage
You get to help decide who will open for Dakota Curtis & The Dark and Gravy Bird at our masquerade! We’re hosting two episodes of Take the Stage with a total of 13 performers, all vying for this coveted spot. We combine the scores from a panel of peer musicians and our online audience to ultimately decide who will take the stage.
Steve Hickman took the highest score on Episode 1. Episode 2 airs on Friday, July 21, and we will announce the final winner live on the stream, Friday, July 28.
Pick Your Experience
General Admission
Join us at the Brown County Playhouse in your best animal attire and masquerade mask or pick out a new mask at our merch table that evening. Enjoy all the amenities of the playhouse including a variety of snacks and a full bar complete with specially themed drinks for the evening.
We will record the event live, and you get to be part of the show! Descend to the jungle and dance the night away in front of the stage to be captured on camera.
All Access Pass
All Access pass holders get access to our exclusive downstairs green room before the show with complimentary appetizers and a private cash bar. Take your time chatting with the artists before the show. We have your front and center seats reserved.
After the show, you can join us for a private afterparty with the evening’s performers. The afterparty includes live music, complementary food, and a cash bar.
Each All Access Pass comes with a free masquerade mask.
