The Stream is a YouTube and Facebook live stream broadcast Fridays at 8 p.m. from our studio in Brown County, Indiana. Our weekly program typically features multiple artists in one evening with a brief interview with each artist after their performance. All songs played during The Stream must be originals.
We typically have one of the following:
- Three solo artists playing 3 songs each.
- One solo artist playing 3 songs and a duo playing 6 songs.
- One full band playing 9 songs.
We also stream privately to our patrons after the public broadcast in a bonus stream called the Boundary Waters. The Boundary Waters gives our artists a chance to jam together or play a few more solo songs. Our post-show stream is a very laid-back performance where patrons can interact with the artists and enjoy a more improvised show.
One of our goals for The Stream is to create compilation albums of local and regional artists to release quarterly. At select tiers, our patrons are guaranteed a digital or physical copy of the compilation each quarter. Additional copies may be available to the public, as well. We require a release for publication that will allow the studio to use audio and video recordings of your performance for albums, other products, and promotional materials.

Preparing for The Stream
If you’re selected for one of our Wednesday night live streams, you will need to have three original songs prepared for the show. We would like to get a set list of these songs in the order you will play them at least a day ahead of the stream so we can have them in our software and display the song title on the screen as each one begins.
Promoting The Stream
We will create a Facebook event for The Stream that you can share with your fans to help promote the event. The Stream is also available on our public Facebook page, Rainwater Studios Brown County as well as our YouTube channel.

Everything you need to know about the stream
Our live stream format is probably unlike any performance that you’ve been involved in before. Please read through the FAQs below to make sure you have the very best experience at Rainwater Studios.
Choose the songs you know best. We want the music that you can play easily with your eyes closed, as there can be a lot of distractions when you’re on stage. We often have low lighting and fog effects, so please do not plan on reading music or lyrics as you play.
Your live stream performance is captured in both video and audio, so you should choose clothing that reflects your personality as an artist. It’s generally best to avoid shirts with logos or text. Neutral colors like black, white, brown, or navy look great. Avoid excessively bright shades such as neon orange, bright blue, or lime green which can be distracting, particularly under our colored lighting.
You may bring a plus-one with you to watch the show. Please let us know in advance if someone is accompanying you so we can set up the space appropriately. The Stream is typically reserved for solo acoustic performances. If you would like to play as a duo, please reach out in advance and we can let you know whether we can accommodate additional musicians for your performance. We do have limits on capacity in the studio so it’s important that we know how many people and instruments to expect in advance of the performance.
You will only need yourself and your instrument for The Stream. Please let us know what instrument or instruments you’re playing before the show so we can set the stage accordingly.
