Rainwater Studios is a fully equipped audio and video production studio hidden inside a barn in the hollers of Brown County. What looks rustic from the outside opens into a high-tech creative space built for recording, filming, and live sessions.
It’s the kind of place where cutting-edge technology hums beneath old beams and open skies, creating an atmosphere that’s equal parts focused, creative, and disarming. You don’t expect to find this level of production in the middle of nowhere — and that’s exactly the point.

Whether you’re dipping your toes into recording for the first time or capturing yet another stellar single, our song-in-a-day session will keep you focused on your masterpiece. Here’s how it works.
Set the stage
Settle into the studio and complete a sound, lighting, and video check. We’ll play back your sound check so you can make sure it looks and sounds the way you want.
Record Your Song
Record your vocals and instrumentation. You’ll have 1-2 hours to get your best take. Most projects can be completed in three takes.
Cut and Polish
We cut and polish your video and master the audio for a triumphant finished project. You’ll walk out the door with a mastered audio file and video of your performance.
Take Your Experience to the next level
Need support from your crew? You can bring up to 4 friends with you to watch the magic happen. With our live audience seating, they can don personal headsets and listen to the mix as we refine your sound. Bring your own snacks and drinks. We have a fridge in the studio to keep your libations chilled as you work.
Need help writing or refining your song? For an additional $200 you can book 60-90 minutes of pro songwriting assistance with Eric Hamblen before your recording session. Turn your poetry, rough draft, or inspired ideas into a finished song.
Book the Hills and Hollers shuttle to pick you up for your songwriting session and drop you off when you’re finished. No need to navigate the backroads yourself or bring a DD along for the party. We’ll take care of it for you. Prices vary by distance.
Make it sizzle
Get Set and checked
Spend the first 90-120 minutes loading in and completing your sound, lighting, and video check.
Capture Your Songs
Dedicate 60-90 minutes to capture for three full songs. Get up to three takes of each one.
Consult and Wrap
Give 30-60 minutes for consultation and wrap-up on your session. Select your fave tracks and prime highlights for post-production.
Post-Production and Delivery
We dedicate up to 4 hours to post-production cutting your videos, mastering audio, and crafting your sizzler reel. Finished products are delivered within 24 hours.
